Meet Mallika: Poetry, painting, music + PR and comms extraordinaire

April 27, 2021

Mallika Tiwari arrived in Canada in 2019 with an impressive professional portfolio that guaranteed her a position at one of Canada’s top ERP implementation expert firms. A few weeks ago, she joined K&P, bringing her robust experience in B2B and B2C communications to our team and clients. As we do with every new colleague, we took her through our traditional “Get to know you” interview to paint a picture of what really matters to Mallika:

What do you love the most about PR?

The aspect of PR that makes it so interesting is that it never gets monotonous. You never experience a dull moment and there is always the next challenge to look forward to. Brainstorming with your team and suggesting creative campaigns to various clients makes it even more appealing to me.

What are you looking forward to in your new role at K&P?

When it comes to communications, I have seen the best of both worlds – corporate communications and agency life. And I have been very excited to spring back into agency life and work in this fast-paced environment. I am looking forward to implementing all my learnings from the client-side and managing multiple tasks every day.

What might people be surprised to learn about you?

While studying journalism, I wanted to explore videography. I even went as far as shooting a documentary featuring teenagers from the National Association for the Blind – where I volunteered for three years to conduct spoken word poetry workshops.

What are three things you cannot live without?

  • Internet – Especially in this virtual world where the only way to stay connected with friends and family is through the Internet
  • My phone – I’m always connected to my phone – whether it’s memes, TikTok, news or video calls.
  • Painting – At the end of the day, my art is what helps me unwind and connect with myself

What do you love the most about Toronto?

Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world. I have friends from many different countries, allowing me to know more about people from different cultures, embrace our similarities and celebrate our differences.

What does your playlist look like?

I have a playlist for every different time of the day, different moods and activities. From classical music during daytime working to pumping music for evening workouts.

We (and our clients) are thrilled that Mallika chose K&P when she missed the adrenaline of agency life. We are excited to be a part of her growing Canadian family…and have her be a part of our growing agency!
