Welcome to the team, Chris!

September 30, 2020

Chris Allen joined our team along with Emily Ellis at the end of August as one of our fall interns. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to our firm and can’t believe how much they’ve both learned about our work and clients in only a few weeks.

Join us as we get to know a bit more about him through our traditional welcoming questionnaire:

What do you love most about PR?

What I love most about PR is being able to work with people from a multitude of different industries and having the opportunity to be creative. Every day you get a chance to learn something new and expand your knowledge across a wide variety of industries and sectors.

Do you have any secret talents?

My secret talent is that I’m a pretty good amateur photographer! I started taking photography classes in my first year of university as a hobby and fell in love with it. After reading up on the nuances of digital photography I saved up to buy my first professional camera and never looked back. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with traditional film photography as well. Right now, I’d say portraits are my greatest strength within the field.

Who inspires you?

I’ve always been inspired by musicians. We keep a fairly large collection of old records and CDs around the house, so music has always been a huge part of my life. I especially love going to concerts and seeing music performed live as it really gives you another level of appreciation for the craft. I think being able to convey messages or invoke certain emotions through your music is an incredible thing, and something the world needs.

What do you love most about Toronto?

What I love most about Toronto is its diversity. I’ve learned so much about different cultures growing up here. Talking to people from different backgrounds gives you new perspectives on life and provides you with constant opportunities for learning and growth. I think being born and raised in Toronto has really prepared me for interacting with the outside world. In addition, you can get just about any kind of food you want here!

What does your ideal Saturday look like?

My ideal Saturday would be a road trip to a provincial park or lake with some close friends. Living near the city, you don’t always get a chance to experience nature. Getting out of the house and going for a hike or just relaxing by the water is something I love to do when I get the chance.

Where would your dream trip take you?

My dream trip would take me to Japan. I’ve been once before but I’d give anything to go back one day! From the vibrant colours of Tokyo to the calming rural scenery surrounding Mt. Fuji, there are so many great sights to behold. I also loved visiting shrines and temples to learn about the rich history throughout the country. There are many I haven’t been to yet so that would be at the top of my list.

We’re happy that Chris joined us for the fall and that he is here to share his passion for PR and photography!
