What do you love the most about PR?
I love being able to share clients’ stories. Storytelling has been around for centuries and keep us connected as a society through time. Working in PR, I get to help clients, stakeholders and spokespeople share their stories in an effective and meaningful way.
What has been your proudest career moment to date?
I’ve worked on a variety of healthcare portfolios but two that really stood out to me were Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Canada (MTP-CA) and Medicago. While supporting MTP-CA, I helped build awareness of the debilitating disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
During the global pandemic, I was lucky enough to help support Medicago through various approval stages as it developed its plant-based Covid-19 vaccine.
What are you looking forward to in your new role at K&P?
I’m extremely excited to work alongside such a passionate, intelligent and caring team.
Who inspires you?
My auntie Rita continues to inspire me daily with her endless wisdom, compassion for others, bravery and knowledge. When I first moved to Toronto, she welcomed me into her home with open arms and has been a large influence in my life. I recently had the pleasure of visiting her family home in Guyana.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
Spending the day at the beach with good company to soak up the sun, swim and kayak. My beach essentials are lots of snacks, sunscreen, something to read, a speaker and my dog Franklyn.
What TV series are you into right now?
I’m currently watching Mirzapur – an Indian Hindi-language action crime thriller.
Where would your dream trip take you?
Across South America concluding with Galápagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador. The islands sit on both sides of the equator and are home to a wide ecosystem of species (my favourite being the giant tortoises).
Welcome aboard, Carrie! We are delighted to have you as part of our team, and we look forward to tapping into to your passion and expertise.
