The end of our financial year is always a very busy time for our PR firm. Amidst the business requirements involved with closing the year, it’s also when we reflect on, and celebrate the year’s successes and set organizational and individual goals for the coming year. Of course, we’re also busy with great client mandates and the start of the holiday season! Curious to hear what we’ve been up to?
Driving results through creative communications… we do it with flair
Every day that we get closer to the holidays, our marcom team gets busier. That’s how things go when you work in retail and travel & tourism. Recently, we were thrilled to have Flair Airlines come on-board with our agency, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work we are doing to help Canadians find affordable ways to rethink traditional gifting and creating memories together throughout the holidays.
Meaningful work on and off the clock
This fall, we were both excited and very fortunate to head out for K&P’s Days of Giving, and volunteer our time at both Holland Bloorview in Toronto and Villa Medica in Montréal. The team had a great time working on escape rooms, organizing libraries and brainstorming for upcoming fundraising initiatives (I encourage you to sign up for Capes for Kids here). We were also very proud to support AccessNow and their partners’ launch of the Mapping our Cities for All project which assesses the accessibility of Canadian cities. This important report garnered much deserved media coverage across Canada.
Keeping track of changing news consumption habits
A few weeks ago, we released our fourth annual survey measuring consumption, trust and credibility in Canadian media sources. If you missed it, you can check out the press release here. TLDR? While news delivered through established news media remains the most credible across the board, older Canadians and younger Canadians have polar consumption habits; Baby Boomers seek out traditional channels (83%) first, while Gen Z (no surprise maybe?) heads to their favourite social media platform (85%).
Welcoming new teammates
With every quarterly update, I love to take an opportunity to celebrate and welcome our new K&P staff. The last quarter brought us a few new teammates, who include:
- Antonia Moga, account coordinator, Montréal
- Samuel Harsha Rabindran, account coordinator, technology
We are thrilled with how well they have integrated with the team, and how quickly they have delivered strong results for clients.
Recognition of outstanding team members
The other thing I get to do through these articles is to celebrate career growth at K&P. This quarter we are thrilled to recognize Manal Belcadi, who was promoted to senior account coordinator in recognition of her skills development and results especially with social media engagement and influencer relations. We are also celebrating Duane Turner, who was promoted to senior manager, production & design. Duane has significantly contributed to our growth and expansion of graphic and video design capabilities as well as supporting his clients with successful integrated communications mandates. Finally, Nathaniel Glassman was promoted to account manager. Nathaniel’s growth in leading mandates across different client industries and his strong writing and project management skills helped secure this well-deserved recognition.
Looking forward to the holidays
I’ve told them directly, but it can’t be said enough; I am truly grateful to work with the smartest, funniest and most hardworking group in public relations. I am thankful for them, our partners and our clients for another incredible year.
As I write, we haven’t seen work start to slow down, nor are there many out of office messages just yet. But for our team, and yours, I hope you get a chance to take a few days off with family and friends, sit by a fire, go tobogganing, read a book, or maybe just catch up on that much-needed sleep! Whatever your plans are, take time to relax and recharge. It’s going to be another fantastic year ahead!
