While at CreateTO, Samantha spent much of her time working on transit-oriented, mixed-use, mixed-income housing projects, and on sustainable and heritage reuse projects. Earlier in her career, Samantha worked at other real estate-focused PR agencies, where she supported several development and architecture firms.

Yas Khavarian

Graphic Designer

Yas is a multidisciplinary graphic designer with a deep passion for motion graphics and video-making. Her journey began as a Microsoft Paint fanatic, where she would immerse herself in crafting stories and bringing them to life one pixel at a time. With an Honours Bachelor’s degree from the York University/Sheridan College Program in Design, she possesses a diverse skill set in different facets of design, including branding, packaging, illustration, UI and typography.

Yas's dedication and creativity led to the development of her passion project titled, "Duolingo: Word to World" which tackled the often overlooked but crucial act of correctly pronouncing different names. Her project prompted to high recognition and subsequently landed her achievements that included the Applied Arts 2021 Digital Advertising award and the National Silver at the ADCC 2021 Interactive competition.

Her proficiency in video editing allows her to combine motion graphics, animation and storytelling techniques seamlessly, creating videos that both engage and inform. Carrie Pala

Account Director

A flexible, dynamic teammate and thinker, Carrie has experience in government, non-for-profit, consumer and corporate communications. She will contribute her creativity, a deep knowledge of the Canadian tech and health industry and a history of delivering results aligned with strategy to the K&P team.

Born for the agency life, Carrie has worked with a variety of tech, finance, health and consumer focused clients at two Canadian PR firms and during her time as a freelance consultant. Some of those clients included Samsung Electronics Canada, LG, Medicago, American Express Canada, and Barbie, among others.

At her most recent agency, Carrie helped plan and execute three separate Unpacked events, CES 2022 and numerous product launches for her tech clients. While at another agency, she worked on several health portfolios, including supporting Medicago launch its plant-based COVID-19 vaccine in Canada during the global pandemic. Prior to agency life, Carrie worked in various communications-centered roles for Health Canada and Transport Canada. She brings that diverse experience and background in the Canadian tech industry to help the K&P team find thoughtful solutions for clients.

Carrie graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Communications and Public Relations before studying Public Relations at Algonquin College.

Manal Belcadi

Manal is passionate about always finding new ways to combine qualitative and quantitative research, peppered with her creative insights to communicate in more efficient ways. Using her analytical and writing skills, she supports Kaiser & Partners clients across the tech, financial and lifestyle sectors.  

Before joining K&P, Manal garnered experience in the media industry, interning at the national Moroccan press agency and several other news outlets. This experience allowed her to write and report on the news in multiple languages, such as French, English and Arabic. She also learned to work through tight deadlines. Manal has also worked for lifestyle clients, helping them build stronger brand identities through thorough market analysis to create visuals and promotional materials.  

Manal recently completed her Master’s degree (MSc.) in Organizational Communication at the University of Montreal. Her thesis focused on health communication and the way social media content created by health professionals is becoming a new form of health promotion. Her research also inspired her to develop a strong interest for social media campaigns, a skill that more and more clients are looking for in their public relations services.  

Previously, Manal graduated from Al Akhawayn University in Morocco, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a concentration in media production and public relations, and a minor in English literature. She is fluent in French, Arabic, and English.

Catherine Buteau

Catherine provides expertise on content creation and management, as well as developing integrated communication strategies for clients across sectors, including asset management, payroll & HR, technology and mental health.

Catherine’s passion for communication has driven her to seek as much experience as she can in the field since the start of her career. She first interned as a communication’s agent at Radio-Canada Acadie, in New-Brunswick, where she lived as she attended university. Following that, she briefly worked as a journalist in Haïti, her home country for one of the longest running radio stations and then, the national daily newspaper. She believes that all these experiences helped her develop wider views of the world and perspectives that nourish her work today.  

Before joining Kaiser & Partners, Catherine worked as a marketing consultant for Manulife, where she helped develop strategies for B2C and B2B audiences to promote the group benefits portion of the business.  

Catherine holds a master’s degree in International and Intercultural Communications from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). For her thesis, she studied Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), analyzing their communication strategies, especially as they present (and represent) developing countries and their citizens to a western audience. She interviewed several communication and marketing experts working in NGOs or in the humanitarian sector to understand their process and gather their thoughts on their work and the field in general. She received high mentions for her thesis. Catherine is fluent in French, Haitian Creole, and English.

Emma McNally

Emma combines her passion for media relations and social media with the skills acquired during her internship at K&P. Emma supports the team on clients in real estate, personal finance, lifestyle and insurance industries.

Emma is a recent graduate of Humber College where she took a three-year public relations advance diploma program and recently completed a four-month internship with K&P before accepting a full-time role as Account Coordinator. During her internship and time at Humber College, Emma gained knowledge in several areas such as writing, reporting and research along with social media and media relations skills.  

Emma had the opportunity in her internship to work on several accounts giving her a diverse knowledge into different sectors and clients and she loves being able to work on a variety of topics and tasks each day while still learning something new.

Duane Turner

Senior Manager, Design and Production

Duane provides instrumental expertise to content management, marketing and media relations as well as leading Kaiser & Partners’ visual communications team. He currently plays an integral role within the Marketing Communications department.  

Prior to joining K&P, Duane worked as a content writer with We Are Social where he led the conception, execution and management of multiple consumer brands. In under a year, thanks to his work, those brands exceeded all projected growth and engagement KPIs across various social media platforms.

Duane has also worked as a Community Manager with Labatt Breweries’ in-house creative agency where he oversaw the development of Budweiser Canada’s social media channels. It was there that he spearheaded the creation of the Canadian Porter-Brown society, an employee resource group for black teammates and people of colour within the organization – his biggest career achievement to date.

Duane graduated from Centennial College’s post-graduate sports journalism program which provided him the opportunity to intern with The Sports Network (TSN). He turned that internship into a story editor role and continued to climb the ranks at TSN, becoming a digital content editor and producer within four years.

Marwan Gharbi

With a digital background and passion for communication in all its forms, Marwan enjoys advising clients with a 360-degree approach that considers all of today's marketing and communication channels. His training in administration and marketing gives him the necessary tools to properly analyze the needs of his clients to choose the appropriate strategy that matches their mission, values ​​and their audiences.

Marwan has experience with marketing agencies, having previously worked for another Canadian agency where he developed and executed successful marketing campaigns. During this experience, he worked with prestigious clients in various sectors such as financial and insurance services, retail trade, health and pharmaceuticals for the McKesson group, recycling, and sport.

Prior to joining Kaiser & Partners, Marwan also developed an in-depth understanding of the Canadian media ecosystem as a member of the CBC Radio-Canada digital team. Within the organization, he advised several companies in Quebec and British Columbia on their digital campaigns. During the pandemic, he helped organizations and local governments convey their messages to the population using efficient and innovative digital channels.

Quinton Massimo

Senior Graphic Designer

Quinton brings broad creative expertise to his role as Senior Graphic Designer at K&P. Since his time with us, Quinton has expanded the agency’s offerings from the ground up through creative marketing collateral including (but not limited to) client social campaigns and profile management, infographics, print and digital materials, rebrands and sizzle reels. He is also exploring 3-D rendering to broaden and enhance his advertising offerings.

A graduate of the Graphic Design program at George Brown College, Quinton specializes in art direction and excels at developing web sites, landing pages, dashboards and online application prototyping for brand identities. His clients rely on his ability to design tangible creative, advertising, and UX/UI solutions for a variety of sectors.

Nathaniel Glassman

Senior Account Manager

Nathaniel leverages his natural problem-solving, strategic thinking and strong writing skills to support a variety of accounts across Kaiser & Partners’ various practice groups, including clients such as Canadian Payroll Association, SecureKey, Numinus and ORSIC.

Prior to joining K&P, Nathaniel worked on a powerful student campaign with the City of Toronto. The campaign, COVID Conversations, was focused on flipping the narrative about party-going Millennials and Gen Z in the GTA, while developing curated COVID-19 safety messaging rooted in empathy. The five-day campaign featured podcasts in which young people from the GTA shared unique and difficult experiences of struggling with mental health, finances and safety-snubbing roommates throughout the pandemic. Nathaniel successfully secured a segment on CBC’s Metro Morning and represented the campaign as a spokesperson, and the campaign received a silver 2021 CPRS Toronto Student Public Relations Campaign or Event of the Year Award in the Executed category.

Before entering the world of professional communications, Nathaniel taught English in Tokyo, Japan. There he learned to speak, read and write basic Japanese. His experience in Tokyo also taught him to be adaptable in unfamiliar situations – a critical skill in today’s ever-changing landscape.

Estefanía loves tackling challenges and learning new things along the way. She has a keen eye for detail and thrives in dynamic settings where she can constantly bring innovative ideas to the table. Lauren Bech-Hansen

With a background in financial services, marketing, and communications, Lauren approaches her work from a client-focused perspective. Her passion for communications enables her to tackle challenges with confidence and make valuable contributions to the efforts of those she works with.  

Prior to joining K&P, Lauren worked at several investment management firms where she facilitated major public affairs initiatives, monitored high-level news pertinent to the public perception of the company, and prepared weekly briefs, reports and presentation decks for the senior management team. She also handled complex account issues for a large base of investors across Canada, fostered positive relationships with key clients, and refined various internal materials in support of a more consistent communication strategy. More recently, she led a campaign to build out a professional online presence for a small, family-run general contracting firm.  

Her experience includes coordinating marketing/communications projects, producing strategic communications materials and establishing positive rapport with a diverse range of clients.

Shane Madill

Account Director

Shane leads and supports a diverse range of clients in thoughtful communication programs at Kaiser & Partners for business-to-business and business-to-consumer mandates.   

He has planned and executed full-service PR strategies for broad and niche audiences to increase brand awareness, reputation and thought leadership while targeting the appropriate audiences for clients’ objectives.  

Campaigns he has contributed to have been recognized by the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)’s prestigious awards programs in the areas of investor relations, marketing communications, new product launches, media relations and writing, including multiple finalists for Best in Show at CPRS’ Toronto ceremonies.   

He has also been an important part of supporting crisis communication situations, including crisis simulation trainings, holding statements and emails to major stakeholders.  

Prior to joining Kaiser & Partners, Shane worked as the editor-in-chief of The Silhouette where he helped the publication receive a win at the Hamilton Independent Media Awards for Best Media Outlet in 2018 and was nominated for Best Journalist – Next Generation in 2017. He helped spearhead the paper’s reintroduction into the Canadian University Press and introduction into the National News Media Council while upholding the ethics, ideals and journalistic integrity promoted by both. He also worked at The Silhouette as an online editor, opinion editor and reporter.

Hayley Suchanek

With experience in investor relations, stakeholder engagement and corporate communications and a background in the mining sector, Hayley brings analytical and creative thinking to the K&P team.

Mohammad Raza

Account Coordinator

Mohammad leverages his extensive writing, editing and research skills to support the K&P team across a variety of accounts in many industries. His unwavering passion for storytelling is critical in helping clients create more meaningful engagements with their audiences.

Prior to joining K&P, Mohammad worked as a communications intern at University Health Network in the Facilities, Management and Projects (FM-PRO) department. Here, Mohammad created a series of essential communications materials that highlighted FM-PRO’s often underrepresented staff such as porters, maintenance and housekeeping personnel, and the amazing work they have done supporting hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also worked at Hill+Knowlton Strategies as assistant consultant, where he provided support on multiple communications programs for a variety of corporate clients.

Mohammad graduated from the public relations and corporate communications post-graduate certificate program with honours at Centennial College, and also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and political science with a minor in English literature from University of Toronto.

Joyce’s financial and business planning experience includes several years in senior-level positions in the retirement, professional services and corporate banking sectors.  She also spent over a decade as lead Controller for a major Canadian pharmacy chain, as well as several years as Controller for a private real estate development and property management company.  

Joyce is a CPA, CMA and completed her MBA at Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Jennifer Farr

Janessa is a seasoned communications professional with experience developing and executing communications programs for a variety of industries, including healthcare, non-profit, technology, government, and professional services. She has executed and managed strategic programs for national, regional and local clients, which improved their position in the market and differentiated them from competitors. At Kaiser & Partners (K&P), Janessa serves as senior lead on a number of accounts across multiple industries, and leads the firm's Digital Communications practice.

Janessa previously led media relations at two large, non-profit organizations (Sinai Health Foundation and SickKids Foundation) and worked with donors and stakeholders across Canada to raise awareness of the need to fund health care for children and adults. Janessa developed and implemented strategic communications plans for awareness campaigns and major gift announcements and worked on issues management and crisis communications in the non-profit sector.

Her experience also includes creating extensive internal communications plans and developing digital and social content strategies.

Ema is a dynamic communications professional with over two years of public relations experience and three years of research experience. She has successfully conducted consumer public relations, public affairs and corporate communications for clients in finance, real estate, technology, lifestyle and entertainment industries.

Ema holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Art History from McMaster University. Chloé's endless curiosity has led her to work on three different continents. It was in New Zealand, working for the NGO Oxfam, that she began to build her communications and marketing skills . She broadened them working for a world-renowned corporate communications agency in Lyon, France and has been growing since then in the Quebec and Canadian public relations markets. Inspired by these different experiences, Chloé knows how to develop captivating content and put herself in the shoes of each of her clients. 

Chloé developed her breadth of experience managing the reputation of major international brands, leading the coordination of large events, carrying out public affairs campaigns and providing communications counsel to business leaders, government representatives, and advocacy leaders.

Her experience in issues management allows her to develop both sharp media and influencer strategies, for B2C as well as B2B audiences. Chloé’s experience also includes co-developing a public affairs department and a PR office for two different agencies, along with successfully securing many business opportunities in different Canadian markets.

Prior to co-founding K&P, David was a Senior Vice President, Partner, and Global Co-Chair for the Financial Services Practice Group at a multinational communications agency. During his six years with the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange he was responsible for developing the exchanges’ mining and oil & gas listings business.

David completed his MBA at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. He also completed the Canadian Securities Course (honours), the London Metal Exchange Hedging with Futures Course and acquired his Chartered Marketer designation. He is on the boards of West Park Foundation and Centennial College’s Public Relations Program Advisory Committee.
